This model is used with some modifications of the gauge parts set (the gauge parts set of EX3216-03 is used with some modifications) for sewing heavy upholstery fabric and leather (in this case double chainstitch is used only). For leaving no feed dog markings on the leather, the feed dogs are Perpunan coated.

Pegasus has made now available for certain applications on W500-01, -05 (stole attaching) and on W600 loopers with bigger eyes for the use of woolen looper threads. The parts no are:

For this operation we use the above machine equipped with a presser foot with a groove for guiding the zipper, which is attached in between two layers of fabric. The -B indicates the rear top feed dog.

This method combines the production sequence into one operation, therefore in a single sewing operation:

• the right fly piece is sewn to the right front trouser
• the zipper is sewn in
• the pocket pouche lip is cut and serged.

The top feed dog working behind the needle on the EXT-5214-B-(280)64/443-2x4/KH/PL is worth a special mention, because it ensures a completely smooth and shift-free seam on difficult materials, since the workpiece is fed evenly from top and bottom.

This operation eliminates 2 operations in comparison to the conventional way and gives a neater appearance.

The time saving in comparison to the conventional way is approx. 50 - 60 %.

The output is approx. 900 - 1000 zips per day.

The basic machine for conversion is the EXT5214-54S1/443-2x4, optionally with KH021A and/or PL020. When converting from top feed in front of the needle into rear top feed, please adjust the dead point of the orbit as well.
